Giant fish caught in Alaska is more than 200 years old

A GIANT fish caught in Alaska is thought to be more than 200 years old.
The 39 pound and 41 inch long rockfish is believed to be the oldest ever caught in the state.
It was caught by Henry Liebman, who reeled it in from a depth of 900 feet.
The insurance adjuster said: “I knew it was abnormally big but I didn’t know it was a record until on the way back we looked in the guide book that was on the boat.”
Henry took his catch home to Seattle where he is planning on having it mounted.
Rockfish in Alaska have been aged at 205 years previously. And Troy Tidingco, from the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, said he believed Henry's catch is older.
A sample has been sent off to a lab to determine its age - often done by analysing length, weight and bone structure.
The largest fish ever caught was reeled in off the coast of Nova Scotia in 1979.
The bluefin tuna weighed a whopping 1,496 pounds and sport fisherman Ken Fraser, who snared it, even wrote a book about his catch.
